Siren ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

When you use Siren, we collect the following information:

• Account information — email address, username (handle), and authentication data
• Location data — approximate geohash location used to place signals in the feed. We do not store precise GPS coordinates.
• Content — video signals you broadcast, GIF reactions, and engagement data (T/F/C reactions)
• Device token — push notification token for delivering in-app notifications
• Usage data — signals you view, engage with, stash, or archive

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Siren service
• To show you geo-relevant signals in your area
• To deliver push notifications about signal activity and key requests
• To enable private messaging between mutual key holders
• To detect and prevent abuse

Data Retention

Public signals decay automatically based on community engagement and are permanently deleted when they reach DEAD state. Private signals (P, L, M) are archived after 24 hours of inactivity. You can manually delete your signals at any time from your profile.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your information with third parties except:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider
• Apple — for push notification delivery via APNs
• When required by law

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via iOS Settings
• Export your data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

Siren is not intended for users under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
